Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is by using the GP online system - Patient Access.  New users are required to request a username and pin number from the reception desk in order to use this system.

This account shows you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also:

  • telephone 812315 between 10am and 4pm daily.
  • bring the paper form to the surgery, Monday to Friday 
  • post it with a stamped, addressed envelope and your prescription will be sent to you.

Collecting your prescription

Your repeat prescription will be ready for collection from the practice in 5 workings, please note acute prescriptions may take longer.  Please allow extra 48 hours if collecting from the Toll or Health centre pharmacy.

You can choose a pharmacy of your choice for your prescription to be sent to please enquire at reception desk.

If you are enquiring if your prescription is ready please contact your choosen pharmacy first before contacting the practice.

 

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

You can return your used inhalers to a pharmacy for safe disposal and to help reduce your carbon footprint.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
